1. What services does Momentum Health Management Services offer?

The services that we offer include our Outpatient Mental Health Clinic (OMHC) and our Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) with division for adults, minors and our LGBTQ+ community. We also offer Mobile Treatment Services (MTS), substance abuse and treatment, individual and group therapy and medication management. Each of our services are client-centered, strength-based, and results-driven. We are eager and dedicated to providing the community with a holistic treatment approach, so our services are not limited to the aforementioned. If our clients need help with housing, childcare, making doctor’s appointments or accessing medical insurance, we are here to help.

2. How do I know which therapist or counselor is right for me?

Momentum Health Management Services is a family of caring experienced individuals with diverse backgrounds. We have taken great care of assembling a team of psychiatrists, therapists, counselors and PRP specialists who are both adaptable and empathic to the needs of our clients.  Each of our clients will have the opportunity for an initial consultation followed by an interview with our therapist to ensure that all the needs of our clients are understood and addressed appropriately.

3. What conditions or issues do your therapists specialize in treating?

We are equipped to assess, manage, treat and/or assist with all levels of mental, spiritual, emotional and physical health concerns. Our mental health professionals, counselors and therapists specialize in treating: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), all personality disorders, anxiety, anger management, substance abuse, ADHD and a host of other concerns that our clients may have.

4. How long are sessions and how often do I need to attend?

Our sessions are anywhere from 45 mins to an hour long and the frequency generally depends on the individual needs of our clients. We offer the opportunity to meet with a therapist in the office or through tele-health and most sessions are weekly or biweekly. We also offer services in the community. In addition to meeting with our mental health professionals, our PRP specialists are available for our clients to assist with those needs that are outside the realm of the therapist-patient relationship.

5. Do you accept my insurance and what are the payment options?

Currently we accept Maryland Medicaid. We are working to expand so that we can provide services for those with private insurance as well as self-pay.

6. How do I schedule an appointment and what is the wait time?

Scheduling an appointment is as easy as giving us a call at (240)539-2940 or going to our website www.momentum-cares.com, once there fill in the contact form and a member of our team will contact you in 24 hours, or the next business day.

7. Can I request a specific therapist or counselor?

If as a client you have a specific therapist or counselor on our staff that you feel most comfortable with, we will absolutely do our best to make sure that you are connected to them.

8. How do you ensure confidentiality and privacy?

Momentum Health Management Services is HIPAA complaint, and we take the privacy of our clients with the utmost seriousness! We do extensive confidentiality training with staff to insure we remain compliant.

9. What if I need emergency Support or Crisis Intervention?

In case of an emergency please contact 911. Once a client has been assigned a PRP specialist, they will have access to that individual for assistance in certain difficult situations. However, this access should not replace the emergency services assistance provided through 911

10. Do you offer online and virtual sessions, and how does that work?

Yes, Momentum Health Management Services offer Virtual Tele-Health sessions with our therapists, counselors and doctors through our HIPPA compliant patient portal. Once you become a client you will be given an account where your sessions and visits will appear on your personal calendar. You will be given a link to connect with your provider to begin your Tele- Health session
